Sky herd's

Sky herd's forever

Lordy dordy, my eyes, my mind cannot, but want to absorb and just maybe understand the sky herd's roaming side by side.

The sky herd's form and roam in so many breads and sizes, yet they all can be recognised with a careful eye.

The herd's graze quite differently with each seasons changing winds and conditions, they play, they sleep and make silly games with each other. Yet the winds, sun and waters are their masters and shepherd.

Like swarms and flocks of birds they know when to cling and protect, strength in numbers as adverse enemies and conditions prevail.

Changing infinitesimally every millisecond they are the sky creatures that chameleons mimic.

They flee, they fight, they push for dominance until they yield to greater dominant forces within the sky pastures.

Sky herd's never feed, never drink yet they exist as one of earth's most undervalued creatures that brings colour, life and personality to each and every day.

Long live our sky herd's, clouds.

Dry keel, no soul

Dry keel, no soul

If my self-worth, satisfaction and success could be measured by the wavelets, rolling swells and the thumping waves that have resonated through ever muscle and bone in my body then I would be considered a billionaire.

Each creature and person’s “Normal” is their normal which has evolved or thrust upon them over the term of their existence, a normality with routine, structure that each and every one relies upon.

For nearly 3 years I have lived with a dry keel and little or no soul, sterilized mentally, physically and emotionally as I have battled with re-integration once again into land society.

It is quite easy to adapt into a new environment if you can see and experience values, integrity and inspiration. When I have returned to land, I often notice quite dramatically the foundations of societies fabric eroding into a flimsy facade with little substance within communities, and such a glaring lack of leadership and direction coming from our political leaders, it leaves me feeling I am just another living corpse in an overcrowded morgue.

Normal life as a sailor for many is far from normal, but it Was my normal. The reality of feeling entirely in touch, magically connected with the world and elements were all consuming and complete. Never were the complexities and logistics a barrier, but purely part of the daily living solution. The solution of being at one with the world, with a purpose, an obligation to everything and everyone we came in contact with, along with objectives and dreams that become our motivation.

As a sailor and person on land, I find it very difficult to be inspired with the same or similar intensity and depth of experience as to what I have experienced on the oceans of the world.

To Sail……….or ?
